Issues

Childcare & Working Families

  • As a parent, I know firsthand how hard it is for families to balance work, childcare, and rising costs.

  • When county-run childcare centers were abruptly closed without notice or collaboration, it showed how disconnected decision-makers can be from the realities families face every day.

  • Quality early childcare isn’t just good for kids — it’s essential to a strong workforce and a healthy economy.

  • At the state level, we need practical, data-driven solutions that make childcare affordable, accessible, and sustainable for families across Utah.

Affordability & Cost of Living

  • Families are being squeezed by housing costs, childcare expenses, healthcare, transportation, and groceries.

  • When markets fail or costs spiral out of control, government has a responsibility to step in with smart, accountable solutions.

  • Just like in the military, accountability matters — if public dollars support private companies, there must be transparency and a return for taxpayers.

  • Responsible public options and fair competition can help keep costs down and give families real choices.

Accountability & Effective Representation

  • Service means showing up, listening, and taking responsibility — values I learned serving in the U.S. Navy and carry with me today.

  • Too often, decisions are made without transparency or input from the people they affect.

  • A state senator should be accessible, honest, and willing to listen — even when the feedback is hard.

  • I believe in working across the aisle, building trust, and focusing on results instead of political labels.
