Issues

  • The burden of the government rests squarely on the backs of working families, shouldn’t our policies reflect that? I vow to make working families, and their issues, my chief concern.

  • When wages stagnate and people can barely make ends meet, it’s indicative that the system is failing. When elected, I will work with experts to identify areas that need rework to ensure all people can not just survive, but thrive.

  • The right to organize that was recently under attack, is one of the ways that workers can advocate for themselves. I believe every system has checks and balances, and these rights are what allow workers to negotiate for better pay, better benefits, and protects workers from workplace abuse. I will always fight for workers’ rights to fair treatment.

  • The foundation of our society are the ones who come after. It is in our best interest to foster and develop our children into the smartest and most creative generation yet and we do that by providing all children with the opportunities to succeed. By investing in our public education system, we expect to see over 900% return on investment. Show me an index fund that can do that.

  • The facts are, working families pay their fair share, while the wealthiest among us and corporations can exploit loopholes to mitigate or eliminate taxes. I’m not fighting for us to pay more, I’m fighting for those who are shirking their duty to be held accountable.

  • In a desert, our water is our most valuable resource, but the Great Salt Lake is suffering. Water rights upstream are parceled off, leaving less for the Lake resulting in low levels. Without the Lake, we are threatening our primary water source, the annual snowpack, and our claim to fame, “the greatest snow on earth”. We need to re-establish the natural flow of water to the Great Salt Lake to ensure we can continue to live here.

  • The air we breathe is just as vital as the water we drink. The inversion continues to cause respiratory issues in children and the elderly and if the Great Salt Lake dries up, the wind will bring arsenic and other heavy metals into our lungs. It is imperative we mitigate our impact to our atmosphere so we can breathe safely.

  • Our scenic lands are one of my favorite parts of living in Utah and their beauty is what makes them valuable. We need to preserve our public lands because when you have something is awesome, it is our duty to ensure it is there for generations to come.

  • Having access to reliable transportation is essential to our livelihoods. As car prices, maintenance costs, gas prices, and insurance costs continue to rise, the burden of owning and maintaining a car is becoming untenable. Expanding public transportation will lead to better air quality, less traffic, less road maintenance, more money in our pockets, and enables independence for seniors, students, and youth. An investment in public transportation is an investment in our future development.

  • Public safety is strongest when it is built on trust. Police officers want to serve their communities well, but they are often asked to handle complex situations without enough training or support, especially when it comes to de-escalation and mental health crises. Clear standards, meaningful accountability, and proper training help protect the public while supporting officers who do their jobs honorably. When policing is professional, prepared, and accountable, it creates safety rather than fear and strengthens community trust.

  • As a veteran, I swore an oath to protect the Constitution and I take it seriously. Every person is afforded rights under the Constitution and we must respect them. I will fight for these rights, and the expansion of these rights, until every person is treated fairly, equitably, and honestly under the law.

  • When government officials are not beholden to the general public, the system is failing. This is apparent when we see how many corporations are given handouts and bailouts all on our dime. It’s time for the government’s function to be for the people by the people, not for the highest bidder. I will fight against corporate and external influence on government bodies and return the power back to the people.

  • As a data analyst, I work with downstream issues every day. A minor fix ignored today results in a catastrophic event down the road. As stewards of the state, it is our responsibility to work on issues today, and plan for tomorrow. Too often, I have seen services cut to save money today, just to end up costing money down the line. We need to look at money spent as an investment and, with proper studies, we can identify and invest our money efficiently so we all reap the rewards.
